I am so excited that I could burst! Ten years ago, as I left the Army, I thought about opening my own leadership academy but for one reason or another the time wasn't right. Well, I am delighted to announce that the time is right now and we have a full course ready for early February in Chamonix.
The Mountain Mindset Leaders Academy brings together the leadership qualities of medicine, military, mountain guides and business leaders to create a dedicated and balanced leadership framework. This framework is underpinned by five principles:
Each of these principles are supported by specific leadership qualities for the aspiring leader. Application of this framework will enable leaders to lead a positive team, focussed on improving performance whilst preparing for their next leadership role within the business. This course is aimed at middle to senior managers who have a grounding in leadership, but all aspiring leaders should also consider this course as a route to improved leadership capability and development.
Our overall learning objective is to enhance leadership capability to improve team performance through successful team-working. Each day has specific objectives and learning outcomes which are delivered in an immersive outdoor environment on the flanks of Mont Blanc in the French Alps, among the ancient mountains of the Snowdonia National Park in Wales, and on the shoulders of Table Mountain in Cape Town.
Our team come from a varied background of leadership including medicine from around the world, the UK FTSE100 and the British Military, all with a wealth of leadership experience and teaching capability that sets them apart from most providers.
In addition, we hope to be accredited by the Institute of Leadership and Management very soon.
